Back From The Abyss

So some of you have noticed that I haven't been posting very much the past few weeks. I recently had hormone shots and pellet implants.

The benefits can be seen in the article, but the best part is they self-dose you for about 4 months. They are safer than oral hormones which fuck up your liver. They are always on, so it isn't like I can skip a week like I tend to do with oral hormones. The downside is cost. My first session was $1300. As you will see there are other downsides as well.

The problem is, my insertion wound became infected, I got a 102 degree fever and an oozing wound for 3 weeks. Also, my skin broke out in something like hives (which has happened before from hormones), and made my new tan a mottled mess. Even though the wound is only a few centimeters, it was really bad in terms of goo coming out. It was very painful, bruised, and swollen as well. Part of the problem may have had to do with the location of the wound. It was right below my left butt cheek in the crease. Unfortunately, that area gets stretched and pulled apart in many day to day tasks.

Anyway, I am back and appear to be healthy now. All good things. Hopefully I will feel 100% soon. I want to start tanning again and I want to swim in my pool that has only been used once. The weather here has been in the 90's, so perfect for swimming. I haven't been allowed to get my wound wet, so I am guessing another week or so. This is a big summer for me where I get to teach my two small dogs to swim and how to get out of the pool. That way, if they ever fall in, they can escape. They aren't always the smartest tools in the shed if you know what I mean.

As far as other stuff, my fish tanks are doing well. I lost a very old raggedy trigger. It was a Huma-Huma also know as the Huma Huma Nuku Nuku Pua. It was old when I got him and he was very honary and mean. You would expect this from an old fish. Also, my Tessalata eel has been on a killing spree again. I put a 1.5 foot snowflake eel in the tank to go with the 30" Tessalata, 20" spotted morray. The Tessalata immediately took a huge chunk out of his tail and bit him in the side. Somehow it has stayed alive, but I am not sure how. Keep in mind this snowflake is a big eel. It is very thick (thicker than anyone's thumb and probably more like a flashlight). The Tessalata is probably the length and girth of my arms. It's not really a competition, but I was hoping they could coexist. He has also taken chunks out of the morray - who has bitten him back. The interesting thing about the morray is he has great eyesight while the Tessalata has terrible eyesite. The morray is a much more efficient hunter, but the Tessalata is much more viscious.

Anyway, that is all for now. I'm looking forward to posting more over the next couple weeks.

Vicki
